Beta Notice
GhostNot is currently in beta. During the beta period, no real payments are being collected or processed. All stake amounts and wallet balances shown are for demonstration purposes only. Features, pricing, and terms may change before general availability.
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using GhostNot ("the Service"), operated by GhostNot Inc. ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
GhostNot is a trust and reputation layer for calendar scheduling. The Service allows hosts to require financial commitments ("stakes") from meeting requesters. If requesters attend their meetings, stakes are refunded. If requesters fail to attend ("no-show"), stakes may be captured and transferred to the host, minus a platform fee.
3. Account Registration
You must provide a valid email address and verify it to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
4. Stakes and Payments
- Stake holds: When you book a meeting, a hold is placed on your payment method for the stake amount. This is not a charge — it is a temporary authorization.
- Attended meetings: If you attend the meeting, the hold is released and no charge is made.
- No-shows: If you fail to attend, the stake is captured. 85% goes to the host; 15% is retained by GhostNot as a platform fee.
- Cancellations: Early cancellations (more than 24 hours before) result in a full refund. Late cancellations (less than 2 hours before) are treated as no-shows.
5. Trust Scores and Reputation
The Service assigns trust scores (0–100) based on your meeting attendance history. Higher scores may qualify you for reduced or waived stakes. Trust scores are calculated automatically and cannot be manually adjusted. We reserve the right to modify the scoring algorithm at any time.
6. Attendance Verification
Meeting attendance is verified through calendar API integration or host confirmation. If automated verification is unavailable, the host may manually confirm attendance. Either party may dispute the outcome within 48 hours.
7. Disputes
Disputes must be filed within 48 hours of the meeting. We will review disputes and make a determination at our discretion. Dispute outcomes are final and may affect trust scores for either party.
8. Prohibited Conduct
- Creating fake accounts to manipulate trust scores
- Colluding with other users to inflate reputation
- Using the Service for fraudulent or illegal purposes
- Interfering with the Service's operation or security
- Circumventing stake requirements or payment holds
9. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through your dashboard settings. Account deletion is subject to a 30-day grace period during which you can reverse the action.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the preceding 12 months.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of material changes via email.
